Our dear friend Wayne passed away from
cancer
at 9:50pm on Sunday, January 3rd, 2010.
As per his request we are having a Shraddha for him at
10:00am on Saturday, January 16th.
Please join us at 2441 Sacada Circle, Carlsbad, CA 92009
This ancient Vedic ritual is to help with the transition
of the departed soul. Our Wayne was a true Bhakti yogi and a true
Karma yogi. He tirelessly helped other people and was always giving
generously to others. Wayne was a key member of the San Diego
Satsang that follows the teachings of Baba Hari Dass, from whom
he took the name Asheesh, which means “blessing from God”,
an accurate description of Wayne.
Wayne also often practiced Bhakti yoga
with San Diego ISKCON (Hare Krishna’s), singing and serving
with them. In addition Wayne participated in several Buddhist
practices, especially enjoying frequent visits to Deer Park Monastery
in Escondido. Wayne lived as a true Yogi and spiritual practitioner,
free of vices and constantly serving others. His musical arrangements
on guitar are well known and well loved by many, as were his sincerity,
sense of humor and kindness.
His surveyor colleagues fondly remember
him as the “motorcycle surveyor”,
since he worked off of a Kawasaki 250 Ninja which he modified
to hold all his gear.
Wayne is an irreplaceable member of our
community
and will be long remembered and greatly missed.
Please note that following the Shraddha
there will be time for you to
share a few words about your connection with Wayne.
Also for those who would like to join us, in accordance with the
ritual we will
be disbursing the Shraddha offerings and Wayne’s ashes into
the sea.
