Om Amriteshwaryai Namaha!
*********************************************

Thursday, February 11, is Maha Shivaratri,
the Great Night of Shiva,
the One Consciousness Permeating All Things.

Shiva translates as HE that is Pure Goodness/Pure Auspiciousness, and we will participate in
and keep alive the Tradition of the Ancient Rishis and Yogis of the Sanatan Dharm of the
Land of Bharat ( India ) by performing Unbroken Worship with Full Concentration,
Attention, Respect, Humility and BHAV.

Everyone is invited to Prakashi and Surya's Amritesvari Devi Mandir By-The-Sea
(their Bhaktishala home), for an Unforgettable Fiercely Shaktified Night of Worship.
We will Pierce the Veil of Time and Space, engorging on AMMA SHIVAAMRIT, Reveling
and Dancing in the Downpour of Such Excruciatingly Nectarous Bliss that our hair will stand
on end as a result of our continuous chanting of bhajans, mantras, abhishekams
(bathing of the Lingam), puja, homa, stotrams, archana namavalis, dancing, aratis, meditation, readings and more. Please come and share in the Bhakti Feast!

We will begin promptly at 5:00 pm and ending a little after dawn the next day.
Please prepare properly for the puja by showering before coming and put on fresh clothes.
We will further purify you by misting you inside and out with AMMA's Holy Water mixed
with Ganga Jal and the Sanctified Water of 1008 Tirths, as well as annointing you with
special Vibhuti and Tilak. Preparations for the Event will be going on all day
(and actually for days beforehand) and you are encouraged to show up as early as 11 AM,
to join in as well as to purify and center/ready yourself for the opening worship.

You are welcome to come and stay for as long or as short a time as you like, though we
strongly encourage you to attend the entire event. It is said if one worships Shiva in the
four quarters of this night, without sleeping, that one is assured Moksha. We don't want to
speak for such things, but we can tell you that it is always a very high and memorable event where AMMA/Mahadev' s presence is VERY noticeable and easily felt. We have noticed over the years,
with absolute certainty, that the Juiciest and most Viscous Amrit falls in the latest hours of the night, to reward those you have stuck to the vow and remained awake, committed and focused.
As with all things, the Love you Take is equal to the Love you Make, so consider arriving
before the 5PM start, take the Sankalpa (Vow) that has been taken for Untold Millenia, and ROCK THE BHAV WITH ALL YOUR BEING until we finish after dawn!!!

In any case, please make sure you take some of the prasadam before you leave!
There will be extra special prasadam for all those at the end of the program the next day.

If possible, please RSVP to let us know that you will be attending, as we want to make
sure every guest is taken care of in every possible way.

The world is always there and always calls. I speculate it will still be there the day after Maha Shivaratri. If it is not, we have spent our last night in the greatest way possible! Let us let go of focus on the outer world for just one night and praise the Lord with full fervor and devotion. Let us enjoy and live like the Yogis on the High Himalaya, Arunachula and the rest of India for just one night. Let us give everything we have and more...for AMMA. Let us taste the Bliss, the Nectar, the Amrit. One of the main Commandments observed throughout all major religions for those that want to attain God/Goddess is"You should love the Lord, thy God, with all thy heart, all thy soul, and with all thy might". This is an opportunity to go just this. Life is short and is over before you know it. Who knows if the next breath, let alone tomorrow will come for us. Even if you live to 108, you have very few Maha Shivaratris left to enjoy and take advantage of. For the sake of the upliftment of all Creation, let us praise the Most High for at least this one night.

To quote AMMA:
"Those who meditate only according to a timetable, as if it were a duty, will never see God. You have to cry for God day and night, with no thoughts of food or sleep. Only those who have done so have realised God."

"Will you get any milk by pressing the ears of a cow? Can you say there is milk in all parts of her body? Only her udder contains milk for us to drink, and we will get that only if we milk her. It's true that God is everywhere, but to actually experience Him we have to connect to Him through spiritual practices and sadhana."

"Our body is perishable. Only the Soul is permanent. This is a rented body. We will be asked to leave at any time. Before that, we should look for a place in a permanent abode. Then, when we leave the body we would move to that permanent abode, the eternal house of God."

THIS MAHA SHIVARATRI IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO JUST THIS!!!

JAI AMMA MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! !! JAI SHIVA SHAMBO MAHADEV!!!
