Wildfire Volunteer Updates from Joni Pradetto
We (www.volunteersandiego.com
) are working with the County, 2-1-1, and the Red Cross to
identify volunteer
needs in regards to the wildfires. Currently, trained first responders
are assisting. Please DO go to the evacuation sites
they will let you know what they need. Volunteer San Diego will
post and distribute volunteer
opportunities related to the fires as they become available.
Current volunteer openings
* 2-1-1 is seeking volunteers to help in the next 72
hours to take calls and/or fill other roles at 2-1-1 should that
be needed.
Shifts are about four hours and training is available. If interested,

1) We still have temporary accommodations available for about
20 people right now in Mira Mesa, La Jolla, UTC,
and Oceanside areas, and we are in the process of mobilizing more.

to offer temporary accommodations in your homes, please contact
Rahul @ 858-437-3719 or Nimisha @ 858-357-3891.
2) We have seen it first hand now, and so we know that there is
shortage of blankets, pillows, mattresses, tents.
Please respond directly to the requests for donations that are
coming on the TV, or if you need help transporting
in-kind donation items please contact Harish @858-232-5086.
3) We will be going to the Mira Mesa High School and possibly
other evacuation centers today also to volunteer.
We also plan to do some relaxation sessions for the evacuees with
music and breath-work if situation demands.
